Program from the October '96 Meeting

Mark Middleman
Mark's presentation this month was on Horn Speakers, a subject on which
he is expert. He owns 61 horn speakers. All are restored and are in working
condition. When asked where he has this many speakers, he responds, "next
to 61 radios; all over my home."
Middleman went on to explain how he found some of his treasurers, including
the Celluloid speaker shown on the left-front, below. He received a telephone
call from an Antique Dealer friend who saw and passed it up in a cellar.
Mark went right over and purchased it from the owner. It was completely
covered with paint, due to a spill. Only later, while cleaning off the
paint did he discover it was a Celluloid. Congradulations
Mark, nice job! ED.
