The NJARC has a fully functional electronics repair shop adjacent to the main Radio Technology Museum (RTM) exhibit hall.
It's common to see members repairing exhibit pieces. The doors are left opened so that passersby can take a peek at what it's like to visit a shop.
Workbenches fully stocked with soldering irons, hand tools, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
We also have our primary tube tester and a large stock of components.
Paid members are allowed to use our repair facilities during normal Museum open hours, as well as during repair clinics.
There is limited, but sufficient working space, and storage space to put your unfinished project at the end of the day.
Be courteous. Try to finish what you start in a reasonable time. Don't abandon projects! Ask for help if you get stuck.
Check ahead to make sure there is space. Contact the Workshop Foreman.
If you are repair savvy and have extra time, consider volunteering in the workshop.
The club has no shortage of stuff that needs repair, whether exhibits or the test equipment itself!
We could always use extra hands tidying up, as repair volunteers often double as docents for the RTM.
